Knowlege Market Library assignment
Three main features that I find helpful in the knowledge market is the greeter who helps you sign in and gets you someone to work with. Every time I go the knowledge market it is the same person greeting every time. He is always nice and smiling. He does is best to get you the person that you need. Another important feature of the knowledge market is the writing consultant. When I went to the knowledge market last week I met with a writing consultant and she was so helpful. She read through my whole paper and found mistakes and told me everything I needed to do to improve. One other important feature is the research consultants. The first time I ever went to the knowledge market the research consultant showed me how to navigate the library databases and it was so helpful. My friend reserved a study room so that we could work on a group project for our liberal education class. It was really helpful and we got our work done. I have already used the data bases for all of the essays that I have already done. I met with my advisor already twice this semester.

Reflection
My reflection and thoughts on the whole class honestly was that the class was very point less. I understand the idea and meaning of the class but this class was not for me. I really appreciate freshman academy and the helpful hands that they try to give out. But to much handouts could be continuing to baby people. I think this class should be a choice and should be explained before people are forced to take it. One thing I liked about the class was how understanding Madar was. There was a lot of confusion with me because I was switched from the other class. Just to improve this class for next year it should be for people who really need it.

Writing assignment
In my English class we have to write a four paragraph essay using one syllable words. It was very difficult because most of our everyday words we use are more than one syllable. The paragraphs didn't really make sense and sounded really unorganized or like bad grammar. If there was a word that I wanted to use and it was more than one syllable, I had to critically think about a word that meant the same thing and still was only one syllable. Its a very good brain teaser.

Characteristics of a Critical thinker
A time when I had to be a critical thinker was in high school. I had to write a personal statement for college. The teacher gave out examples of some stories that people in the past mostly used. For example, some previous students used topics about a loved one dying and how that changed their life, how their environment affected them and just a lot of powerful stories that impacted their lives. This was hard for me because a lot of traumatic things like such did not happen to me so I thought that my essay wouldn't be good enough. I had to critically think and brain storm ideas to write, so that I could have a good paper. It took me a couple of days to gather my thoughts but it finally came to me to write about myself. I informed the reader on my strive for success and talked about my leadership skills. I have the role of being the oldest so I had to set a good example. Furthermore, I was being a critical thinker when I thought about my personal statement.

My Schedule
My schedule for this semester is pretty cool. On Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays I have math class at 10am. After math class at 12pm I always go to the math center and work on homework. On Mondays I have model entertainment, which is just a organization for modeling, and I work out at night. On Wednesdays I work from 6:15-9:15 then I get started on some of my homework. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have English class at 10am-11:15, Writing class at 12pm-1:50, and liberal education class at 2:30-4:00. Tuesdays I have Freshman academy at 5pm-8pm and then I have fashion club at 9pm-10pm. Thursdays I have to work 8pm-10pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my most busy days. I kind of like the fast pace of it all. It makes me feel like I'm getting a lot of things done because I'm not moving slow. On Saturdays I work from 5:30pm-8pm. I like the way my schedule is set up because I don't have to rush to do anything and I have enough time in between classes to look over my work and get help on any work that I was confused about.

My first week of college was easy and smooth sailing. My first class which was math was interesting. I didn't have a hard time finding it at all. I just followed the signs and found my class easy. I thought the class would be too easy so I went to Mrs. White and asked her was there anyway I could get into a higher math class because I wanted to be challenged. She said that I would have to take the math placement test and test out of the math class. So studied for that math test and then ended up taking the math test online. I was so excited that I tested out and got into another math class to challenged. It made me more confident in setting goals for myself and achieving them, already in my first week. Later in the week I had English, Writing and Liberal arts class which were all pleasantly easy classes to find as well. I got to know all my professors that week. I made sure that I introduced myself to all my teachers after class. My first week of college was a good memorable experience for me it will also help me explain to my sister what she should do for her first week and if I had a great experience to tell her then maybe that could make her more confident for her first week of college next fall.
